Walnut Mushroom Taco Meat

Who says delicious tacos can't be vegan? Not us. Once you get a taste of this mouth watering plant-based taco meat, there will be no going back.

 

Ingredients:

1/2 yellow onion, chopped very fine

1 1/2 cups Cremini mushrooms, chopped very fine with a food processor

2 cups raw walnuts, chopped very fine with a food processor

1 Tablespoon avocado oil

1 Tablespoon tamari

2 Tablespoons water

3 Tablespoons Barefood'n Happy Cheezy POW, chili cheeze flavor

1/2 teaspoon sea salt and pepper to taste

Hot sauce to taste

 

Directions:

Heat oil in a medium pan on medium heat. Add mushrooms and onions and sprinkle with the salt and pepper. Cook for about 8 minutes or onion is translucent. Stir in Cheezy POW chili cheeze, tamari, and water and combine well. Turn off heat. Add walnuts and hot sauce and stir again until everything is incorporated. Adjust salt and pepper to taste. Enjoy in tacos or nachos with our Cashew Cheezes melted on top. Yum!
