These plant-based burgers are simply scrumptious and paired together with a bun, guac, lettuce and tomato make a satisfying and healthy meal.
1 15 ounce can black beans, rinsed, drained and roughly mashed
1 cup quinoa
½ medium onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 tablespoons hummus (your favorite brand)
½ teaspoon sea salt or to taste
3 – 4 Tablespoons Cheezy POW chili cheeze
3 Tablespoons avocado oil
Cook quinoa according to directions. Meanwhile, in a large bowl, stir together beans, onion, garlic, hummus, sea salt and chili cheeze seasoning. When quinoa is ready, stir well into bean mixture. Let rest in fridge for 15 minutes.
In a large skillet, heat the avocado oil on medium. Form 8 small to medium size burgers and cook 4 at a time, about 3 minutes on each side or until nicely browned. Sprinkle with extra chili cheeze POW and top with guac, lettuce, tomato, red onion and a bun if desired.
Optional: Occasionally, I also make a delicious sauce to top this burger off. It is super easy with just 3 ingredients: 3 Tablespoons Vegenaise, a teaspoon Chalula hot sauce and some chopped cilantro. Just stir them together for an easy, yummy sauce to top your burger.
